Responsive Grounds is a joint exhibition of AI and technology art bringing together artists from Singapore and Taiwan, co-organised by the Digital Art Foundation (Taiwan), Supernormal.space, and Tusitala (Singapore). Drawing on second-order cybernetics, the exhibition proposes that intelligence is not a pre-designed feature of any system, but a phenomenon that surfaces through it—shaped by resistance, noise, and the ongoing negotiation between a system and its environment. Building on Entangled Agencies, curated by Ong Kian Peng in Singapore in 2026, the exhibition is co-curated by Ong Kian Peng and Hsiao Chia-Yi of the Digital Art Foundation. The participating works span interactive installation, generative algorithms, kinetic sculpture, and machine learning imagery. Together they resist two dominant narratives of AI art—the spectacle of capability and the rhetoric of threat—asking instead how we perceive and critique an infrastructure already deeply embedded in our lives. Responsive Grounds is on view from 5 to 26 November 2026 at VA Hub, Taipei.
