An artist’s work is often defined by different periods, with shifts in color and media reflecting changes in perspective over time. In 2026, Dan Retro took a big step from New Taipei City into the heart of Taipei—and continued to ask: "What else could a furniture store be?" Within this space, light changes the colors we see, allowing familiar objects to take on unfamiliar forms and meanings. A chair can be furniture, but also sculpture. A lamp can provide illumination, but also shape the atmosphere of a space. A piece of design can be collected, while carrying stories beyond its function. "Dan Retro’s Blue Period" is not only about the color blue, but about a shift in the way we see. By bringing contemporary design and art objects together, we invite familiar categories to become a little less certain. This is not meant to offer a new definition of what furniture is, or what a furniture store should be. It is simply "Another way it could be."
