For LEE FENG, his works do not seek to deliberately depict specific scenes.
Instead, somewhere between abstraction and imagination,
they open a space that belongs to the inner world.

Layers of deep, dark tones accumulate,
forming a quiet and profound background.

In LEE FENG’s practice, what truly moves him to pick up the brush
is not a sudden flash of inspiration,
but a quiet yet immense state of being.

The scenes once glimpsed almost by chance
may have been nothing more than a reflection upon a lake,
a ray of light falling across a surface,
or a feeling that lingered in memory for only a moment.

With time, these impressions settle,
gradually becoming colors and brushstrokes upon the canvas.

He creates in an almost intuitive manner,
allowing colors to flow freely
and the movement of the brush to unfold naturally,
step by step entering his own “realm.”

What the viewer sees may be the artist’s memories.
Yet in the act of looking,
they may also gradually begin to reflect
a landscape of their own.
