Travelling between Dimensions Ⅱ（2026）

The concept behind Travelling between Dimensions I (2024) explores the relationship between two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms. It experiments with flattening three-dimensional objects into two-dimensional planes and, in reverse, turning two-dimensional shapes into three-dimensional forms by adding depth and volume. The work also explores the idea of time as a fourth dimension. These ideas have long been explored in sculpture and other forms of three-dimensional art. At that time, the exhibition focused on the idea of "the human"—something we all know well, yet something that continues to raise questions and encourage self-reflection.

The works in Travelling between Dimensions II (2026) shift the focus to two-dimensional forms. They explore how lines define the outline of an object to create a flat shape, which is then folded into a three-dimensional form. The works are inspired by animals and use simplified forms to express their behaviors and instincts. Some animals, such as bears, elephants, and bats, are naturally symmetrical. From an evolutionary point of view, symmetry is both simple and efficient, while also creating a strong sense of balance around a central axis. By breaking these animal forms into flat surfaces, the works use cutting and folding to turn two-dimensional shapes into three-dimensional structures.

• The Elephant: The outward-folded ears double as the elephant's nostrils.
• The Bat: The bat's outstretched wings resemble an open mouth, suggesting the act of emitting echolocation.
Another group of works, the ape, bull, and dog moves away from symmetry to highlight the unique behaviors and characteristics of different animals.
• The Ape: Expresses the playful movements of climbing, swinging, and jumping.
• The Bull: Draws inspiration from the movements of a bull in the arena.
• The Dog: Depicts dogs greeting one another through the familiar behavior of sniffing.
2D Space –A world defined by lines and planes.
3D Space –A world where objects exist as complete forms.
