2026 LU Hao-Yuan : The Desire of the Eyes In this solo exhibition, the elements of the eye, the body, distance, and color permeate the entire presentation, as if transporting the viewer into another spatial dimension—detached from the external world. Each work, regardless of its scale or subject, establishes its own field: quietly existing, self-contained, and contemplative. Among these, the eye emerges as the central motif. Its restrained yet profound gaze carries both intensity and an ineffable emotional depth. Confronted with these eyes—symbols of spirituality and loyalty, of wildness and domestication—does one choose to return the gaze? Though confined by the limits of the pictorial frame, the works condense time and desire into a surging force. This energy seems to break through the boundaries of the canvas, extending outward—where the viewer’s gaze meets and continues beyond the image.
