Coinciding with Taipei Art Week, Hsin-Ying LIU presents her latest solo exhibition, exploring the connections between nature and female experiences. Through painting, she creates a space for moments of pause and reflection, where everyday experiences and inner sensations can unfold with greater clarity and presence. LIU approaches painting as an intuitive journey, allowing her breath and physical gestures to shape the movement of lines and colors across the canvas. Like currents of air, layers of color gradually build and transform, while the compositions unfold without a fixed center, encouraging viewers to navigate the works through their own perceptions and sensations. The spirits, creatures, and organic forms that occasionally appear in LIU’s paintings are not figures from a specific narrative, but reflections of emotions, memories, and desires that exist before they are given words. Through a soft and fluid visual language, LIU draws upon her experiences as a woman, a mother, and an artist, allowing sensations held within the body to gradually emerge as visible forms.
