HIGHLIGHT|CURATOR’S PICK
Not a single second of the rain, rivers, or flowers in Circulum Formosa is prerecorded—they're computed in real time from the temperature, weather, and hour at CTBC Financial Park, and from your own behavior. The moment you stop to watch, the landscape is already growing differently because you're there. This ecosystem never has a day it repeats itself.
Artwork Description|
TeamLab was founded in 2001 by a group of artists, engineers, CG animators, mathematicians, architects, web designers and other professionals from a variety of fields who came together to create new forms of digital art. Their works have been displayed in numerous countries and regions such as Japan, Europe, the U.S., and Singapore, and have in recent years enabled the team to win international acclaim.
In the grand lobby of CTBC Building A, an interactive multimedia art installation of the largest scale in Asia titled “Circulum Formosa” is on permanent display. Through the 360 degree panoramic view afforded by advanced hardware equipment, viewers are presented with real-time images processed via big data and software programming. This installation was designed by renowned Taiwanese design firm DEM Inc. and the art division of TeamLab. Tailored to the spatial dimensions of the CTBC headquarters, the hardware was inspired by the CTBC logo, the curving Cs of which embodies the loving embrace of two encircling arms. The software content includes waterfalls, forests, ponds, and an assortment of flora and fauna. Visual effects change with the dynamic fluctuation of the twelve solar terms as well as a variety of financial statistics from the company. Rich in visual scenarios and audio enhancements, the installation is a highly interactive piece of artwork.
