Founded in 1983, Caves Gallery traces its roots back to the 1970s, a golden era marked by Taiwan’s economic takeoff and prosperity. As the local economic foundation grew increasingly robust, the gallery actively championed the art industry. Initially focusing on traditional and modern ink painting, Caves Gallery witnessed and fostered rich cross-strait and global Chinese art and cultural exchanges.

Starting in the 1990s, the gallery diversified its vision, expanding its exhibition mediums across ink painting, oil painting, sculpture, and beyond. For over three decades, Caves Gallery has maintained a dedicated professional brand identity, committing itself to showcasing outstanding artists with profound artistic mastery, mature styles, and deep introspective vision—extending Taiwan’s vibrant artistic energy onto the Asian and international stages.

To honor its commitment to the humanities, fine arts, and historic spaces, Caves Gallery opened its second space in 2016 at the former residence of Professor Hung Yen-chiu (No. 5, Ln. 183, Sec. 1, Heping E. Rd., Da'an Dist., Taipei City), continuing to serve as a dynamic art platform that offers the public deep and captivating visual experiences.
