Doodling comes naturally to children, but for adults it can be a formidable challenge. Letting go of preconception, desire, and conditioning, and to let paper, brush, and intuition merge into one, is to return to, or at least come close to, the wholeness of the mind. Such free-flowing doodling carries a transcendent power, able to unearth one’s true nature.
In this lifetime, I have been able to explore my unconscious and subconscious: continually breaking conventions, sifting through fragments, finding no place for emotional expression, yet with profound emotion permeating throughout; through intricate interactions, filtered at shifting tempos, exploring the suppressed inner self. Might I once again take on fresh wings, measure by the totality, and discover entirely new possibilities?
It is often said that, upon reaching a certain age, one should only look ahead and never revisit the past. Yet for me, past, present, and future are all interwoven in the story of my life. Time lays bare all my hopes and desires without leaving a trace. Yet in the end, I find myself returning to reflect on the path of art that led me here, always accompanied by the reminder: “Never forget your original intention.”
