The Taiwan Women’s Art Association (TWAA), founded on January 23, 2000, is a nationwide, member-supported, nonprofit art organization. For over two decades, TWAA has been dedicated to researching and preserving the history of women’s art in Taiwan, curating exhibitions, and serving as a platform that supports female artists by helping them integrate diverse resources. The association actively works to improve gender equity within the art world.
Thanks to the leadership of successive presidents and the support from various sectors, TWAA has grown to include over 170 members, comprising artists, sculptors, designers, collectors, curators, critics, educators, gallery professionals, and museum practitioners from across Taiwan. The association bears witness to the enduring efforts of female artists throughout the island, and remains committed to fostering a space for visibility, dialogue, and exhibition opportunities for women in the contemporary art scene.
