The Songshan Cultural and Creative Park (SCCP) was built in 1937 as the Songshan Tobacco Factory by the Taiwan Governor-General (Sōtokufu) Monopoly Bureau and became Taiwan’s first modern cigarette production facility. It was later renamed the Songshan Tobacco Factory under the Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation. Due to factors such as declining demand, production ceased in 1998.
In 2001, the Taipei City Government designated the former factory as Taipei's 99th municipal historic site. The site was transformed into the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park (SCCP) and officially opened to the public in 2011. The SCCP aims to be Taipei's hub for creativity, integrating heritage preservation with the growth of cultural and creative industries. It has become a vital ecosystem for Taipei's creative landscape by fostering collaboration in art, design, and fashion.
