About
Founded in 2005, Red Gold Fine Art aims to provide an innovative forum for contemporary ink painting, abstract painting and sculpture. The gallery has committed to promoting international art exchange and exhibiting the work of prominent artists from Taiwan, Korea and Japan with a dedicated interest in contemporary ink painting and abstract painting. The gallery staged joint exhibitions for claimed contemporary ink painters and abstract painters of Taiwan and Korea in 2014 and 2015 respectively.“The Intrinsic Four, 2016:Contemporary Art in Taiwan and Korea”explores the subjects of cultural identity and artistic diversity. In 2017, we invited South Korean artist Kim Ho Deuk for a solo exhibition and accompanied young and mid-career Taiwanese artists to participate in the INK ASIA 2017 in Hong Kong. In 2018, we invited Moon Junghee to curate a Taiwan-Korea ink painting joint exhibition. In 2019, we specially invited Chia Chi Jason Wang to curate an East Asian ink painting joint exhibition. Red Gold Fine Art continues to explore the motivation behind curating exhibitions, focusing on the diverse expressions of contemporary ink painting and abstract art driven by the unique ethnic characteristics and creative impulses of Taiwan, Korea, and East Asia. Through these efforts, we aim to deepen the mutual understanding of art and culture between these regions. Three years after the COVID-19 pandemic, the gallery orders our thoughts and bounces back. We focus on more senior Taiwanese and Japanese artists and international sculpture exhibitions as well. In 2021, we held solo exhibitions for artists Kuo Chen-chang and Yang Shih-chih. In 2022, we featured a metal sculpture exhibition by Kido Osamu. In 2023, we showcased a stone sculpture exhibition by Hong Mei-ling and Hayashi Takeshi, as well as an abstract painting exhibition by Kazumi Nakamura and Yukie Ishikawa. In 2024, we will host solo exhibitions for Lee Mau-cheng and Liang Zhaoxi, along with a wood sculpture exhibition by Takashi Fukai. At the same time, we remain committed to supporting young Taiwanese artists, organizing solo exhibitions annually. Notably, artists such as Liu Chia-wei, Lu Hao-yuan, Yen Yu-ting, Hung Hsuan, Hsiao Pei-i, Lin Yu-pei, and Chou Po-han have achieved remarkable success. Red Gold Fine Art is at the age of blooming. This youth and freshness is initiated by keeping faith to its original intentions. While we are fully aware of the importance of cultivating global perspectives, we also believe that in order to embrace the world we have to gain strong foothold locally even harder. We dare to dream big and always stay modest. And then, we can finally announce a most sincere promise, also a great expectation—In terms of art gallery management and curatorship, Red Gold Fine Art stands firmly on contemporary issues and leads the way to the future.
