Founded in 2000, The O-Bank Education Foundation (O-BankEF) has emphasized "learning, innovation, and sustainability" in holding a series of events designed to encourage entrepreneurism. We have held the WeWin Entrepreneurship Competition for ten years, attracting a total of 5,000 entrants. As a result of this competition, the O-BankEF has supported the start-up of 23 new businesses.
Over the past years, however, the O-BankEF has shifted its top priority to artistic and cultural undertakings, and has long used the concert hall on the first floor of the O-Bank Group headquarters to held events, such as lectures, concerts, and art exhibits. To encourage aspiring artists' creative work, the Foundation has carried out the "Stars of TiDing" art advocacy project annually since 2010, provide a platform and generous administrative resources that give young artists an opportunity to display their special talents. Over 16 years, the “Stars of TiDing” project has supported more than 1,000 new talents. It progressed to the next stage in 2022 with the “Stars of TiDing 2.0” Project Grants, extending resources towards arts development and education to cultivate future artists.
In May 2022, the O-BankEF initiated the Taiping Elementary School Museum Operations and Establishment project. The project curates the precious work “Bust of a Girl” by Tu-Shui Huang at his alma mater. Preserving and enlivening Taiping Elementary School’s valuable artifacts, the project office began by cataloging the school's extensive collection of historical artifacts and organizing an open-access storage room. Through this micro-museum shares the culture of the school and its locale with the public and sets a benchmark for sustainably managed community museums.
After many years of hard work, the O-BankEF has become something of a cultural and arts center for the Neihu Technology Park. The Foundation will continue to engage in social participation and assist the underprivileged, thereby enhancing the sustainable development of Taiwan’s society.
