"Fiber art" refers to artworks made from natural and synthetic fibers. Originally considered a form of craft, fiber art has undergone a new evolution and gained a contemporary redefinition. Beyond weaving, fibers can be manipulated through knotting, wrapping, braiding, twisting, pleating, binding, and various other techniques. Fiber artworks range from two-dimensional to three-dimensional and even spatial forms, bringing unique qualities of softness, permeability, and suspension that allow for innovative artistic expression. These qualities have enabled artists to explore themes such as feminism, domestic life, repetitive tasks associated with women, social and cultural issues.

The advent of the internet and the digital age has brought new challenges and impacts for artists and the preservation of traditional crafts. Digitalization offers convenience in archiving but also leads to a trend of dematerialization. Fiber art brings us back to the materiality and tactility of artworks. The repetitive gestures and the back-and-forth motions of weaving become a multilayered form of self-dialogue. Emotions intertwine deeply with the continuous interlacing of fibers; thus, when threads turn into surfaces and vibrant colors, the "artwork" becomes a medium that moves the heart. The exhibition " Interweaving of Emotions," held in collaboration with the Taipei Art Week at IP Art Gallery, invites artists Chia-Hui Lu, Milay Mavaliw, Yen-Chao Huang, and South Korean artist Soo-Jung Yoon to explore the diverse facets of fiber art and the integration of emotions through their art creations.
