"If the Universe Feels " — CHIU Chien-Jen Solo Exhibition
Airport lounge windows, street-side parks, train stations filled with travelers—artist Chien Jen Chiu draws from casually captured moments in daily life and travel, using a complex array of brushstrokes to create a dialogue around the city, memory, and the fluidity of the human body.
The exhibition title "If the Universe Feels" references a line from Tang Dynasty poet Li He, evoking a sense of lament over the impermanence and fleeting nature of worldly affairs in a constantly shifting space and time. On the canvas, cascading layers of flowing paint form complex textures—at times fragmented, at times interconnected—transforming the visual narrative from a single decisive moment into a reflection of the viewer’s fragmented thoughts and rich emotional undercurrents.
Ruomu Gallery invites you to discover, through the works of Chien Jen Chiu, a tranquil space within the clamor and constant change of the city.
