Gallery Room was founded by contemporary artist Chou Shih-Hsiung. Starting with curating exhibitions in its own exhibition spaces located in Taipei’s Da’an and Xinyi districts, the company has since collaborated with Taipei Fashion Week, Vogue Taiwan, Far Eastern Department Stores, Marie Claire, ART TAIPEI, and other organizations to create a series of exhibitions and pop-up events featuring international luxury brands and renowned international artists.

This space that we call our home is jointly named by AVAT and Hantoo Art Group as “FreeS ”. The name has multifold meanings, as it symbolizes being “Free” and the “S” could stand for” Soul”, “Space”, “Studio”, and much more, because the possibilities are boundless.
