The “Artist-in-Residence Taipei” (AIR Taipei) program, guided by Department of Cultural Affairs, Taipei City Government residency policies, merges artistic practice with daily life and builds a global network for cultural exchange. It offers residency opportunities for both local and international artists, fostering cross-cultural and interdisciplinary collaboration. Over the past two decades, AIR Taipei has hosted over 500 artists from more than 40 countries and sent 100+ Taiwanese artists abroad. Although the Taipei Artist Village ceased operations in 2023 due to urban renewal, its core mission continues at Treasure Hill Artist Village. Moving forward, AIR Taipei will expand through community engagement, academia-industry collaboration, and hybrid (online/offline) platforms—sustaining its role as a hub for creative talent development and international cultural exchange.
