The Taishin Bank Foundation for Arts and Culture was founded with the funding from the Taishin Bank in May 2001. In 2002, the Foundation established the Taishin Arts Award. With focus on events of visual, performing and trans-disciplinary arts, the Award has developed a selection procedure including proactive nomination and cross-disciplinary review, both pioneering initiatives in Taiwan. In establishing this local arts award, the Foundation continues to introduce innovative, excellent arts creations to the public, and attempts through frequent observation, discourse, as well as relevant events of promotion and education, to achieve the ultimate goal of responding to art itself.
In addition to the Taishin Arts Award, the Foundation is also dedicated to the promotion and supporting of arts and cultural activities and events. Within the corporate, the Foundation combines the corporate’s resources and utilizes spaces in the headquarter of Taishin Financial Holdings to regularly present exhibitions and performances. Apart from the 1st-floor lobby exhibitions and the noon concert series in the 2nd-floor’s Yuan Hall every other Fridays, the Foundation also organizes cultural and artistic film screenings, art talks and art programs for the corporate staff.
