About
Founded in 1983 in response to the burgeoning modern and contemporary art movement, Taipei Fine Arts Museum (TFAM) is Taiwan’s first public art museum. Since its inception it has shouldered the mission of preserving, researching, developing and promoting modern and contemporary art in Taiwan. In addition to documenting and presenting the nearly century-long history of Taiwanese art, the museum also shines a spotlight on contemporary art as it constantly unfolds. TFAM maintains a global vision while nurturing the local artistic environment. It fosters artistic talents and promotes art education to help the artistic ecosystem thrive and to elevate the cultural attainment and artistic sensibility of the people, with the aim of building a contemporary society with aesthetic taste, creativity and the power of critical thinking.
