About
LIN & LIN Gallery, which was established in 1992 as Lin & Keng Gallery, the pioneer of Chinese modern art galleries. The Gallery founder Lin Tien-min is an important advocate in the Chinese modern art market. Since the early 1980s, he has explored and promoted the work of senior generation artists such as Sanyu, Lin Fengmian, Wu Da-Yu, and Zao Wou-Ki among others. And since the inception of the establishment, the Gallery has focused on the development and cultivation of local cultural aesthetics from the perspective of cultural identity for many years and dedicated to the promotion of Chinese modern and contemporary art. LIN & LIN symbolizes the legacy of two generations and aims to serve as a bridge for the transmission of Chinese culture. With the basic belief that history as the main shaft and thought as the guide, it is hoped that the Gallery will bring the diverse appearances of all generations together and perpetuated by researching the spirit of Chinese local aesthetics and recognizing its value.
As a successor of first generation, David Lin has cooperated closely with contemporary artists including Liu Wei, Chen Chieh-Jen, Kuo Wei-Kuo, and Zhao Zhao among others through the dialog of era (time) and region (space) to advanced multifaceted perspectives and reflections on local culture. From modern Chinese art a hundred years ago to the globalized contemporary art nowadays, Lin & Lin Gallery takes the century as a yardstick for thinking about the development of Chinese art internationally and organizes an insightful and unique aesthetic context for major art institutions and collectors at home and abroad, presenting a more complete picture of Chinese aesthetics.
